4 Ways to Take Screenshots with Windows Free Snipping Tool
There are four ways to take screenshots with the Windows Snipping Tool. We will go over each one of these options to explore what each functionality offers.

To set different modes of capture, click the dropdown menu next to the New button and then select a desired mode.
Free-form Snip: Draw a custom free-form shape around an object. This mode lets you capture any part of the window in any shape desired by drawing the desired shape.
Rectangular Snip: This mode lets you capture a rectangular or square image of a desired length and width. Simply drag the cursor around an object to form a rectangle.
Window Snip: This mode lets you capture the current browser window or dialog box.
Full-Screen Snip: This mode lets you capture the entire screen.
The Snipping Tool does not come with a shortcut key. Hence it is difficult to take screenshots of menu pop-outs.
Take a Screenshot
To capture a screenshot simply open Snipping Tool and click the New button
You can also Assign a Shortcut Key to the Windows Snipping Tool
After the screenshot is captured, the image is automatically copied to the Clipboard and the mark-up window. The mark-up window allows you to make draw or annotations on the image. You can then save or share the image.
