What is Scrum of Scrums in Agile Software Development?

The scrum of scrums covers the status update, however, the main purpose of this team is to make sure multiple teams are collectively working to develop on the requirements, mitigate risk, and resolve any issues. The scrum of scrums tracks these issues with a backlog of its own known as the Risk Board.

Each ambassador in Scrum of Scrums should answer the following three questions:

What risks and impediments have been resolved by your team since the last meeting?
Are there any current risks or impediments slowing down your team?
Will you be introducing a new risk or impediment that will affect another team?

The Scrum of Scrums is responsible for delivering a working software that depends on the collaboration of multiple teams. For example, development of a smartphone depends on a product design, working hardware, operating system, built in apps, integration with other products, and other teams. Each one of these areas have multiple teams working together to design and build the product. All teams have to collaborate, mitigate risk, and deliver one piece of working product.
